ADVISORY BOARDS & COMMISSIONS

The successful operation of a borough is a complex task requiring the time and effort of many individuals—both elected and appointed. The Borough Code and other state enabling legislation allow councils to enlist the capabilities of citizens through the establishment of various advisory boards and commissions. Although a few of these bodies are mandatory, such as zoning hearing boards in communities that have adopted zoning ordinances, many others are permissive. The use of advisory boards and commissions not only allows councils to draw on the talents and abilities of citizens with particular expertise, but also provides a channel for citizens to become more directly involved in municipal government. The members of New Hope Borough advisory bodies serve without compensation and contribute many valuable hours of service to the community.

PARK &

RECREATION BOARD

The New Hope Park  & Recreation Board has established a Park Gifts Program to allow residents to contribute  to park and open space improvements throughout the Borough. The Park Gifts donation form is available by clicking here.

HARB--Borough Council is seeing applicants to fill a vacancy on the Historical Architectural Review Board. Non-residents with an interest in historic preservation may apply. Please forward a completed application to the Borough Manager.

Shade Tree Commission--Borough Council is seeking applicants to fill vacancies for alternate members of the Shade Tree Commission. Applicants must be residents of the Borough. Please forward a completed application to the Borough Manager.

Park & Recreation Board--Borough Council is seeking applicants to fill a vacant position on the Park & Recreation Board. Applicants must be residents of the Borough. Please forward a completed application to the Borough Manager.

Human Relations Commission--Borough Council is seeking applicants to fill regular and alternate positions on the Human Relations Commission. Applicants must be residents of the Borough or be employed in the Borough. Please provide a completed application to the Borough Manager
