NEW HOPE BOROUGH
RE-ORGANIZATION MEETING
MONDAY, JANUARY 5, 2004
7:00 PM

Mayor Keller called the meeting to order.

PRESENT: Sharyn Keiser, Randy Flager, Jake Fell, Ed Duffy, Mayor Keller, Bob Rynkiewicz, Chief Pasqualini, and JoAnn Connell.

ABSENT: Janell Hammond

Presentation of the Election Certificates and the swearing in of the Council Members by Mayor Laurence Keller.

Geraldine Delevich for Borough Council-4 year term
Rey Valesco for Borough Council -4 year term
Richard Hirschfield for Borough Council -4 year term

Mayor Keller asked for nominations for President of Council. Sharyn Keiser made a nomination for Richard Hirschfield and Geraldine Delevich seconded. The motion was passed by the following vote.

Mayor Keller asked for nominations for Vice President of Council. Randy Flager made a nomination for Sharyn Keiser and Ed Duffy seconded. The motion was passed by the following vote.

Mayor Keller asked for nominations For Council President Pro Tem. Richard Hirschfield made a nomination for Jake Fell and Geraldine Delevich seconded. The motion was passed by the following vote.

Richard Hirschfield at this time took the Presidents Chair.

Richard Hirschfield asked for a motion to approve Resolution #2004-1 for the Designation of Various Banking Institutions as follows:

• First Federal Savings and Loan of Bucks County
• First National Bank & Trust Company
• Wachovia Bank
• PNC Bank
• Nation Wide Trust Company .PS
• Plgit
• Putnam Investors Services

Sharyn Keiser made the motion and Jake Fell seconded. The Motion was passed with all in favor.

Richard Hirschfield asked for a motion for Resolution #2004-2 to reappoint Carroll Engineering as the Borough Engineer at the same rate as in 2003. Jake Fell made the motion and Sharyn Keiser seconded. The motion was passed with all in favor.

Richard Hirschfield asked for a motion to reappoint the Borough Solicitor at the same rate in 2004 as in 2003 and whose firm as of this morning is under a new name, Baldi and Jenei. Randy Flager made the motion and Jake Fell seconded. The motion was passed with all in favor.

Richard Hirschfield asked for a motion to reappoint Burton & Browse as the Borough Auditor for the year 2004. Sharyn Keiser made the motion and Randy Flager seconded. The motion was passed with all in favor.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:

Richard Hirschfield welcomed and congratulated Rey Velasco to Council and also mentioned that there will be a strong Council for the next 4 years. Richard Hirschfield thanked all members of the boards, committees, and all organizations for their dedication and especially to Sharyn Keiser who is a big contributor to the Borough. Richard Hirschfield thanked each member of Council for all their contributions to the Borough.

Sharyn Keiser thanked everyone who came out tonight for the meeting and how proud she is to be a part of this Community and is looking forward to the coming year.

Bob Seneca commented how happy he is about this current Council.

Jake Fell announced that this will be his last re-organization meeting he will be attending and feels that this is the best Council that he has seen in all the years he has served.

Ed Duffy commented that he has been on the Council for two years and thanked the voters for electing Richard and Geraldine and adding Rey to the team. Ed Duffy also publically thanked Roy Zeigler and Chuck Tarr for their dedication at every meeting that delivers value to New Hope.

Rey Valesco commented that he will do his best to keep New Hope going in the right direction.

Geraldine Delevich commented that it has been a rewarding experience serving on Council these last four years and is looking forward to New Hope’s future.

Richard Hirschfield invited the public to a small party at the Landing after the meeting where there will be food served and a cash bar.

Mayor Keller commented that each member of Council in place now are all big contributors to the community and this is the first time he has seen this since he has taken office.

Richard Hirschfield announced that at the next regular Council meeting on Tuesday, January 13, 2004 the Committee Chairs will be announced.
